Follow the story of a disappearing, centuries-old tradition that encapsulates the delicate balance, and deep connections, between humanity and the natural world.

Kyung-Mi, Geum-Mi and Jeong-Mi Moon are three sisters, now in their sixties, Haenyeo "sea women", taking only what they need from the sea one breath at a time.

This film is an albert-certified (BAFTA), sustainable production.

Our planet is full of life. From vast oceans to wide-open skies, the diversity of life here seems infinite. But one of those here on earth has been changing the balance for all of its residents.

Yet this is a story of hope.

Meet the people and communities who are making a difference and showing us the way to a brighter, wilder future. Restoring our natural world and restoring our faith in humankind across Britain's Wild Isles.

This film is an albert-certified (BAFTA), sustainable production.

A message from the Jury at Green Screen 2022: "This film is all about emotion. It combines outstanding wildlife footage with touching stories of people and their efforts to advance species and nature conservation on the UK's coasts.
We learn not only about the return of sea eagles in Scotland, rare basking sharks or sustainable mussel cultivation, but also about what the sea and the coast mean to each individual who dedicates all their energy to nature conservation.
This moves, sensitises and encourages us - in the best case - to do something ourselves. Probably the most beautiful gift one can give to the director of this film."

Ratljóst – Enough light to find your way

Exploring the subarctic climate in the heart of winter brings great challenges – with limited hours of daylight and unpredictable weather patterns that can change in an instance, nature leaves you with very few windows of opportunity... but with a bit of luck, it can all pay off, as the land of Fire and Ice shares moments of spectacular, jaw-dropping vistas you’d only experience at this time of year - outweighing the journey through winter storms, hurricane-force winds, icy roads, and whiteouts that swoop down from mountain tops... So this film is named after what the locals of Iceland would say… Ratljóst, enough light to find your way.
